Monitoring a Sick Pet
Unlike humans, pets undergoing treatment for ongoing or chronic conditions can’t describe what they’re feeling. This makes evaluating the progress of treatment or deterioration of a condition challenging. PetPace bridges the pet communication gap, constantly updating caregivers and owners about key health parameters, to facilitate more effective medical treatment and ensure the quality of follow-on care.
The PetPace collar is uniquely suited to in-clinic or at-home monitoring of sick or recovering dogs and cats over eight pounds. With non-invasive sensors, PetPace accurately and continuously monitors temperature, pulse, respiration, HRV, activity levels, positions, calories and more throughout the day.
Health Alerts for your Sick Dog or Cat
Data from the PetPace collar is accessible to pet owners and veterinarians via smartphone or web applications, and is continuously analyzed by a cloud-based analytics engine that examines individual, historical and breed-specific attributes. If the collar detects any abnormalities, an alert is sent in real-time to owners and veterinarians, allowing for prompt attention and treatment of the issue.
Case in Point: “Lucas”
Detecting canine heart failure and monitoring response to treatment
Lucas, a 10-year-old neutered male Beagle, suffers from Chronic Valvular Heart Disease. He is treated with medication and wears a PetPace collar long-term to monitor his condition.
The PetPace collar detected gradual changes in several parameters that indicated the impending deterioration of Lucas’ condition. When his owner took him to see his veterinarian, Lucas was diagnosed to be in Congestive Heart Failure. He was immediately treated with additional medications, and showed significant clinical improvement.
