That’s why we built Safe Zone, a new PetPace feature designed to give you instant awareness the moment your pet wanders outside the boundaries you’ve set — and to get your collar working on finding them, automatically.
What is Safe Zone?
Safe Zone lets you define a safe area for your pet — your yard, your block, wherever feels right — directly from the PetPace app. Once it’s activated, your collar keeps a quiet watch in the background. You don’t have to check the app constantly or wonder if everything’s okay. If your pet stays within the zone, life goes on as normal.
But the moment they don’t, Safe Zone goes to work for you.
What Happens When Your Pet Leaves the Zone
If your pet crosses outside their Safe Zone, two things happen right away:
- You get notified instantly. No need to be staring at your phone — PetPace sends you a notification the moment your pet steps outside the boundary.
- Your collar automatically starts searching. The collar switches into Find My Pet mode, shifting its full focus to tracking your pet’s location in real time. To do this, it temporarily pauses health data collection — because in that moment, finding your pet matters more than anything else.
Once your pet makes their way back inside the Safe Zone, the collar automatically switches back to normal mode, and health monitoring picks up right where it left off. No extra taps, no manual resets — Safe Zone handles the whole cycle for you.
Smart Enough to Think About Battery, Too
We also designed Safe Zone to be considerate of something just as important: your collar’s battery life.
If your pet leaves the Safe Zone while the collar’s battery is below 20%, you’ll still get notified immediately — that part never changes. However, Find My Pet mode won’t switch on automatically in that case. Continuous location tracking uses more power, and at low battery, we want to make sure your collar doesn’t die when you need it most.
That said, you’re always in control. If you’d rather prioritize finding your pet over battery life in that moment, you can manually turn on Find My Pet mode straight from the app.

From there, everything — the monitoring, the notifications, the automatic mode switching — runs quietly in the background, so you can go about your day knowing you’ll be the first to know if your pet wanders off.
