Do you know if your dog is in pain?
“It is a dog’s natural instinct to mask their pain and discomfort until the disease has progressed, PetPace’s continuous monitoring of critical biometrics enables the early detection of health problems. Other smart collars measure only activity and location, which are insufficient to accurately determine a dog’s true health condition,” says Dr. Asaf Dagan, PetPace’s Chief Veterinarian.
What does the Pain Score on the PetPace app provide for pet parents?
It provides a daily assessment of the dog’s pain level, specifically pain arising from chronic joint disease.
The Pain Score is mainly used to detect pain in previously undiagnosed dogs. The score represents the probability that the dog is experiencing joint pain. It is based on scientific studies of hundreds of dogs and machine learning models.
How does the Pain Score on the PetPace app work?
Following a learning period, the algorithm will provide a daily score and an indication of the change from the previous day’s score. The higher the score, the more likely it is that your pet is well. Receiving a low score consistently is an indication that your pet may be experiencing pain.
Note: the ability of the Index to monitor response to pain treatment is not yet validated.
