How does the fever indication in the PetPace app work?
It consists of two zones – Normal and High. A green bar indicates a normal core temperature and a red bar indicates the presence of Fever or hyperthermia.
The PetPace algorithm reports the animal’s core temperature in qualitative terms – Normal or High. It is based on patented technology that allows the collar to non-invasively detect changes in core temperature with very high accuracy.
What is considered Normal or High temperature?
That depends on the circumstances. For example, a slightly elevated temperature in an active pet on a hot day may be normal, whereas the same temperature in a resting pet in a cool room will indicate a fever. The PetPace algorithm accounts for the various circumstances to provide accurate core temperature assessments.
