DETECTING ACUTE HEAT STROKE IN A DOG
Luka, a 6-year-old, female Golden Retriever, suffered from heat stroke after being left in a car for several hours during a hot summer day. Luka was wearing a PetPace collar at the time. When finally brought to the emergency room, she was weak, unable to stand, barely responsive and breathing with difficulty.
Timely detection and intervention are crucial for a good outcome in treatment of heat stroke. Luka’s PetPace collar detected her condition in real time with its patented thermoregulation assessment algorithm. She was hospitalized in the ICU for two days receiving life-saving treatment, and eventually made a full recovery.
